私は2025年の初夏、梅雨入り前の曇りと晴れが入り混じる時期に、鎌倉の山 から海までを歩き回った。歴史の大きさに圧倒されながらも、住宅地から少 し山に入ると豊かな自然が息づいていて、苔や新緑の美しさに目を奪われ た。山には無数の道がついていて、かつてどんな人々がここを歩いたのか想 像を巡らせる。ふと足元を見ると、苔むした石が人の通った部分だけ削られ て、ツルツルと光っていることに気づく。長い時間をかけた人と自然との静 かなせめぎ合い。小さな石にも宿る歴史や時間に少しだけ触れたような感じ がした。 私は今回、鎌倉という土地で見つめた「生命のかたちと時間」をテーマに、 写真を素材とし、彫刻的なアプローチで構成した新作を発表する。 (「時のトラバース」展ステイトメントより)
In the early summer of 2025, just before the rainy season, I wandered from the mountains to the sea in Kamakura during a mix of cloudy and sunny weather. Overwhelmed by the grandeur of history, I was captivated by the rich nature just a short way up from residential areas, with the beauty of moss and fresh greenery drawing my eye. The mountains are crisscrossed with countless paths, and I found myself imagining the people who once walked here. Looking down at my feet, I noticed that the moss-covered stones were worn smooth only in places where people had passed, shining underfoot. It felt as though I had briefly touched the history and time that reside even in the smallest stones. This time, I am presenting new works centered around the theme of “forms of life and time,” utilizing photography and an approach akin to sculpture, which I discovered in the land of Kamakura.
